Somehow the weeks seem longer when the sun shines: the arms of the clock move slower, internet news pages seem to have the same headlines all day, and it seems an age before United/City will be kicking off.
The days pass sooooooo slooooowly when the sun is outside the window, and all you can think of is how you used to be able to go and spend sunny afternoons having fun and doing as you please – but instead, you’re sat penned behind a laptop / phone / desk. Doubtless the sun will have been replaced by rain by 5:30pm… :/
And Wednesdays are the worst day of the lot. The week is not yet halfway through – there are literally still hours and hours of work to do before you get to the weekend. Work which you might even pretend you enjoy to your friends, but which, none-the-less grinds away slowly at times like these.
But don’t worry CityCarders, we’re nearly at the end of Wednesday, and, given that Thursday is the new Friday, then that means that Wednesday is the new Thursday.
I don’t know what that means to you, but to me it means that tonight is therefore the start of the weekend! It’s time to dig out your best going out clothes and get out there (*or get out there after Great British Bake Off has finished, if you prefer – Ed)!
Not sure of what to do on a Wednesday night? One of my favourite games is to browse the CityCardManchester.co.uk website and choose one of the great member offers. Choose somewhere to eat, somewhere to drink, somewhere with free entry before midnight, choose an activity (bowling?), choose an event, or an attraction, or a tour.
Just get out there, because it’s a Wednesday night. And if you don’t, the week will feel even longer tomorrow…
