It’s the last week of the school holidays – which thankfully means that the sunshine will undoubtedly be returning soon, after a miserable, cold and grey August! It also means that there’s still time to get out there and do something fun – with or without kids!
Our hot pick for the week is the SeaLife centre at the Trafford centre. With giant aquariums packed to the gills with colourful, cute, mesmerising sea creatures, it’s truly a fascinating place to visit.
There’s the lovable nemo-fish (clown fish) and all his tropical fish friends, as well as cute sea-turtles, but the animals that steal the show are the dangerous ones: there are sharks which swim above your head; jellyfish that can light up the room and, though small, would leave you on your back for a week; stingrays that seldom need a second chance to take out a predator.
And my favourite – their latest new exhibit - giant crabs: Japanese crabs which can grow up to three metres in length (!) and look as menacing as Bond villains.
And there’s so much more to see. For kids, there’s also a chance to earn a badge or collect a free Lego figure by taking part in some of the free activities on-site this week.
And here’s another reason to visit: CityCard members get 35% off the entry price for Sea Life Manchester. Check out our offer page for more details, and then get it booked!
