With so many new and shiny restaurants opening all the time (and there seems to be more and more every month!), it’s can be really difficult for long-standing restaurants to keep on bringing in the punters – they have to stay at the top of their game, and keep delivering amazing food, to keep people coming back for more.
There’s not many restaurants in Manchester that have at the top of the game for the last two decades – but The Living Room on Deansgate has been one of the finest places to eat in the city since 1999, and, remarkably, it’s still a magical place to visit and eat at today.
The keys to their success are great service, an impressive and beautiful venue with a chic and stylish atmosphere, and, of course, brilliant food. And their food really is brilliant - they do a range of classic dishes, and they do them really, really well. My girlfriend loves the scallops and risotto, but I can never normally stray too far from their steak, which is possibly the best in Manchester. Just thinking about it now is making me feel hungry!
Put all those elements together and it’s no wonder that it’s one of our city’s favourite restaurants, and why it’s consistently filled with enough people to make it feel like a vibrant and happening place to relax.
