The Easter holidays are within touching distance and there’s a buzz in the area around Manchester. Yes, it’s a double-whammy of 4-day weeks, and, walking around the town you can sense that people are almost itching to cast aside their struggles, turn up the volume, and get up and dance!
And with the evenings getting lighter, and the Brexit related storm of bad news slowly drifting out of the way for the summer, then there’s surely never been a better time to call up your mates for a fiesta!
And where better to have a fiesta than the awesome El Capo bar and restaurant in our Northern Quarter. As the name suggests, this is the Chief when it comes to Mexican food in town, and you can be guaranteed an authentic Latino experience whichever day of the week you go – whether it’s Taco Tuesday, Wednesday Wings (delicious wings for 50p each!), Monday Steak night or Sunday Burrito’s! (they also have Vegan specials on Thursdays!) – all accompanied, of course, by a massive bowl of nachos to share!
If you’re feeling hungry, then they even do a Gigante 24 inch burrito with all the trimmings. At two-foot long, it’s a challenge to three people to finish, let alone one!
We love to head to El Capo for the cocktails – there’s one called El Bandito which will liven up any or everyone after a hard day at work – and they’ve also got a great range of cerveza.
