The markets are here, with the weather to prove that it’s definitely bleak and mid-winter: icy cold mornings, grey clouds and torrential rain during the afternoon, and getting dark before you even finish work. Which means surely now is a safe time to mention the C word?
Yes, Christmas is on its way: that means fantastic light displays, the hustle of buying and wrapping presents for everyone, festive drinks, work Christmas parties, and, of course, heading to the nearest theatre for a good old fashioned Christmas panto!
This year, Manchester’s panto, at the ever-impressive venue of the Opera House near Spinningfields, is the tale of Snow White - played by stage superstar Zoe George – and the seven dwarves. It promises to be a super memorable show – not just because it has some star names appearing (including Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood as the Wicked Stepmother!), but because it’s recognised as one of the best panto’s in the country, year on year.
And if that’s not your bag, at the Palace Theatre next month, The Bodyguard takes centre-stage, where you can catch the glittering stage version of the award-winning movie – complete with stellar vocals!
The Panto starts on 6th December, and The Bodyguard on the 10th - tickets are already selling fast. Better still, CityCard members get special rates on these (and other ATG shows) via telephone booking (see the offer page for details).
